Special Project
The Club has been offered a substantial sum of money to develop the Course. While there are no preconditions, the preference is for the money (and associated tax relief through Gift Aid) to be used for a specific Project or Projects. The Greens Sub-Committee has had a preliminary discussion on what might constitute suitable Projects and examples include:
- re-locating the fourth green to the vacant area behind the fifth tee, turning the hole into a dog-leg to the left
- extending the seventh through re-locating the green, either to the left (towards the ninth fairway) or straight ahead - re-routing the stream to run in front of the new green plus raising the level of the medal tee to bring the green into view
- re-locating the twelfth green to the right and towards the ninth tee, with the possibility of creating a water feature in front of/in proximity to the new green.
The General Purposes Committee is keen to elicit suggestions from Members and discussion within the Playing Sections. To that end, Members are invited to present their ideas to any of the four Captains or to any Committee member or through an entry in the Suggestions Book at the Bar.
Coaching for aspiring young golfers will be held during the Summer holidays. Telephone Allan on 01877-330975 for details.
